The Mayor of White Sulphur Springs interacts with both government officials and the community in order to establish goals and objectives for inproved life in the City of White Sulphur Spirngs. The Mayor provides leadership to achieve these goals and objectives, develops public policies and procedures to further them, and makes operational decisions for implementation of such policies and procedures.

The Mayor presides over council meetings, reviews and approves annual budgets and makes business decisions in the best interest of the City.

The Mayor is responsible for appointing and/or hiring management staff, such as City Manager, City Attorney, City Administrator and City Staff.

Additional mayoral duties typically include participating in public events and ceremonies, executing official documents, presiding over discussions on various issues and calling special meetings as necessary.

The term office of Mayor shall be for a period of two years. Bi-annual elections are held in June.
